How will Brexit impact Indirect Tax?

In response to popular demand and following the success of the first of the Brexit webinar from Innovate Tax, Andrew Bohnet, chair of the Oracle Tax Management SIG is collaborating with OAUG eLearning to present - How will Brexit impact Indirect Tax?

The webinar hosted by OAUG eLearning on Friday 09 December 2016 at 11:00am EST is available to all OAUG members - Click here to view webinar access information.

These webinars will look at what is likely to happen and how this will affect your Oracle configuration and processes around your Oracle eBusiness indirect tax solution. We will discuss how Brexit will impact all aspects of your Oracle eBTax or your Oracle Cloud (Fusion) solution, the reporting requirements such as the European Sales Listing Report, Intrastat reporting and the VAT return and the impact on other modules such as order management or projects.

"The short answer is that no one knows for sure how the decision from the 23rd June 2016 will affect businesses and with negotiations yet to start it will be some time before we have a clear idea. It is a challenging time, which is why the Tax Management SIG is hosting a series of webinars that will focus on what Brexit means for indirect taxes.

From an indirect tax perspective, we will ask the question, does it matter if we are in Europe if we are not part of the European Union? 'Leaving the EU' is a confusing term because the UK is very much a European country, just like Norway and Switzerland who are also not part of the European Union, but are in Europe and function perfectly well without the complex requirements surrounding VAT and the EU.

We will focus on, what the alternatives are to being part of Europe around indirect tax, the Mini-One-Stop-Shop (MOSS) for example. Our aim is that the webinars will help you prepare your business for the challenges ahead to make sure you are ready for the changes when they come."
Andrew Bohnet, Innovate Tax.

Tell us what you want to hear from the Tax Management SIG at OOW16

Unfortunately yet again, Oracle have not provided us with any sessions on Oracle indirect tax so it falls on the SIG to provide the only outlet for information on indirect tax in Oracle. It’s a shame and something I simply do not understand that Oracle completely ignores one of its most powerful selling tools, especially in the Cloud. Tell me one other cloud based accounting system that has a tax engine anything like Oracle?

As we only have the one session and we are here for you, the users, please tell us what you want to hear about at the SIG and we will incorporate this into our presentation. Updates on tax in the Cloud? The Impact of Brexit on indirect tax? Proof that the Tennessee Single Article tax requirements can work in Oracle? SAF-T developments around Europe? 3rd party tax integration on Fusion? You tell us.

FREE ORACLE Tax Helpline

The Oracle Tax Management SIG team are pleased to announce a free service for those Oracle users who are looking to rollout Oracle in either R12 or the Cloud (Fusion) and want to get advice or confirmation on how the indirect tax solution should be configured. You can log a request for one of our team to contact you. We have decided to offer this service due to the high amount of indirect tax solutions that are set up with either the integrations partners drive to maximise profit and so minimise the time on indirect tax or when an unskilled resource has attempted to configure the tax. Many of our users simply do not know what is possible or if they can push back to the integration partner to demand a better solution. For free expert Oracle Tax advice Click Here
